WTB: mk3 020 5 speed transmission

Post by benno3231 »

Hey guys,
I have a 1995 golf sport 2 door i picked up in butte and my reverse is going out. If i had the necessary tools to split the tranny i would do it myself, but alas its just easier to throw in a different one. If any of you guys have a line on a good used tranny give me a call @ four 0 six 9 eight 0 nineteen seventy nine.
thanks,
Benno

This car is obd1. I don't believe that necessarily matters, but I'm not completely sure.

Already checked with brax and he doesn't have one. And yeah, everybody wants the golf. Looks like there aren't many two door mk3's left anymore.

Still there eh? If its the same one, Id bet the price could be even lower by now.

I also have 2 "2Y" code close ratio O2Os. Fairly easy to swap 5th gear from your gearbox and be able to rip through 1-4 like a racecar driver :) Ill be in Butte Wednesday. They are from 16V MK2 GLIs with the larger input shaft. No broken reverse.

Oh really? I'd definitely like to catch up with you on wed if i could. Now the only thing that worries me is tranny mounts. It seems like there is one mount that's different but i could be wrong.
