Re: 20VTMK2GLI
My brain is turning to mush and I've been dreaming about wiring and ECUs, so I figured I'd take a short break to do something fun and play with the engine cover.
1.8T didn't want to give up easy

Now its GLI

Oh.... and I figured I'd treat her to an Optima Red the other day. Can't hurt when flashing and messing with electronics to have a good battery and upgraded cables. BTW..... all you MK2 and MK1 and B3 people should be grabbing MK3 battery cables at the junk yards for your cars. Still have yet to pay more than 10 Bucks for a set. In addition to being heavier, they have the top nut to tighten and 6mm posts for your electronics.

Nice man! I've been toying with using that badge style on the Calypsos rear. Can't seem to locate any good condition period correct badges.
That bay is looking great. Nice of Optima to make a custom matched battery cover for you.

Yeah... I have the 20V badge and the 1.8T in the chrome rounded style and they just don't look right anywhere on an MK2(excluding your MK4 engine cover). I was toying with sanding them till they're level and painting them flat black, but even then they are too big.BigSkyGLI wrote:Nice man! Re: 20VTMK2GLI
Getting closer to getting a VSS signal to the ECU. I believe that the car is running crappy because the ECU thinks I'm not moving, thus cutting boosts and requested torque. The original signal came from the Auto trans ECM to the Cluster then onto the CAN-BUS to the ECU.
The VSS signal coming from the MFA on the MK2 cluster will apparently drive an MK4 cluster. Hopefully I can then use the MK4 cluster to pass this on to the CAN-BUS. I may have to stash the cluster board somewhere in the car to accomplish this task. This should make the cruise control workable too.
