Thanks! I bought it brand new on October 13, 1997, and have had nothing but great times with her ever since. For a complete list of mods, check out www.rennwagens.com.

Lets see some more!

Post by Dagger281 »

Were those headloghts euro spec? Most aftermarket lights are euro. If they are, how hard/easy was the install? Thanks i will post my golf when I get a chance, no where near as dank as yours but I love her lol :P

The headlights are the hella MK3/MK4 conversions. They are meant for the euro rad support, but the install is not too hard. You can either a) get a euro rad support and double the cost of your headlight conversion or b) fab up some brackets that will convert the euro tabs on the lights to the US spec rad support, whitch is what I have done. I have install about 3-4 sets of these lights, and it is not too hard to fab the brackets. I also made the wiring harness myself, so that the lights are run directly off the battery, and the light switch is only used to trigger the lighting relays. I have also wiring in the foglights so when I hit my high beams, I get the highs, lows, and fogs all on at the same time. Add the PIAA Extreme white plus bulbs in all six lights, and you have some serious nighttime lighting! I highly recommend the conversion, since the US spec Jetta lighting is so poor. I did the conversion about 6 years ago(drove to canada to get the conversions before they were readliy available in the states) I now have some black light trays that I am going to change out this winter to give the headlights black/chrome inners, I think it will go with the red/black theme better. So for the long post, but you asked..... 8)
