I put a teaspoon of ground pepper in the overflow tank yesterday. It has stopped the leak for now. Hopefully it can hold till next weekend when I have time to deal with it.

I've done my coolant flange twice. Once because it was leaking, the second time because I thought I cracked it replacing my engine mounts, but wasn't and replaced it anyway. It's not hard to do, but it's hard to get hands and tools into the back of the head and firewall. It helps to remove the combi valve and associated hard lines.

I really wish someone like 034 would CNC a replacement coolant flange (like the VR6 crack pipe), it would be worth the extra $$.

Good luck man

I Have been wondering why no one has done that myself! My thought was that different metals would heat and warp differently and not seal correctly... But just a thought.

New week new problems, haven't fixed the ones from last week yet. Now I have an air leak by the vacuum line mess by the air suction pump. i can hear it but couldnt find anything with a quick look over and spraying stuff down with soapy water. Then I pull out from a parking spot, saw a fresh puddle, Ya brake fluid on the ground! Before i stood up saw the car leaking more brake fluid. The leak is really far back more toward the driver. i didn't see any leaks in the master cylinder area. When i got home it had stopped but you can see a little wetness by the rear/drivers sub frame mount. There is one hose running out of the master cylinder reservoir that I don't know where it goes. It runs back into the fire wall. The fluid was not very low, so it just started. Any ideas on the brake fluid?

It could be a motor mount. What color? Whenever the mounts blow, the fluid is pinkinsh and oily.

Also, check the slave cylinder, they have been know to break at the bleeder.

The motor mount on drivers side is dry, passenger side looks dry to hot to squize my arm down there. both were replaced by the previous owner, one around 30k the other around 50k. A little wet on the very top but that looks like i spilled a little oil on it last oil change. The fluid that I found on the ground seemed clear on my finger, slightly oily, no real smell, felt like brake fluid once it drys, kinda tacky/greasy. where is that slave and how hard is it to get to?

Slave is above and behind the drivers inner CV joint. One 6mm hex and it should pop out. The hydro line to the slave is a combo hard/rubber line.

You can kind of see it sitting in the trans in this picture:
