Well, Sunday I returned home from hunting, and got to remove the rear drivveline from the Treg. Seems they all have a flaw in the carrier bearing housing, and they fail. So now my Treg is on jackstands in the driveway, awaiting it's new driveshaft. Yay!

Entire shaft just for a carrier bearing huh? Wow, nice one VW lol.
I so want a Treg, really, serious. But it's gotta be the TDI, which is worse than owning a B5 $4

Well, technically, it IS serviceable. If you can cut your driveshaft in half, install new bearing/carrier, weld driveshaft, balance driveshaft, and install. I ordered a new one.

Every time you fix a B5 it gets faster, but creates two more things to fix.
