Well if were thinking of the same rivets, then they are on the outside of the diff and it would be fairly obvious if one were missing. http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthread.php?4165769 . If thats the case, who knows what shot through that! Anyhow, I will let ya know if i'd like to buy some stuff from you. Do you have the shift cables for the box as well?

By the way I drove the car home at 75mph with the hole in the tranny and it didn't miss a beat. So I guess who knows what let go.
