Off subject, I just got my welder today. Miller 211 with the Spoolmate 100(for aluminum). Now I need a cart, gas, and 230V wired in the garage. So excited, and I might just not be able to fight it..

Did a little work to her this weekend. New door seals, replaced the bushings and clips on the windshield wiper linkage(some of the clips fell out during a rain storm last year), installed the new jets in the carb and made a new gasket, and put some larger speakers in the front kick panels.

I didn't get much done this weekend to the car. But I did run 230V into the garage so I could power up that welder. Since I powered it up I decided to fix up that narrowed beam that came with the car. I cut the shock towers apart, measured, and re welded the whole thing. I cut the shock towers off too. Wire wheeled the beam and thats about it.

Some more progress. I pulled the beam on the car and disassembled. Installed Zerk fittings on new beam and cleaned. One of the adjusters stripped out so I tapped it bigger and put a new set screw in. Reassembled beam spindle to spindle. Went to install it and one of the bolts snapped in the bulk head. Done for the day

that happened on one of my cars. I was going to drill the bolt out and helicoil it but I didn't have a helicoil that big. I just ran to ace and got a really long bolt and a nut and drilled the old one out and put the bolt all the way through with the nut on back. good thing is though if you go that route you can always go back and helicoil it later

I went the drill out, longer through bolt route. That sucked, about 1" of the bolt was broken off in it. It took forever. Luckily last year my dad gave me his old Milwaukee angle drill (Made in USA ), there isn't much room down there. The front beam is bolted in got the brake backing plates on. I'm going to finish off the front end Sunday. Next week the motor and tranny come out. Also ordered a new stereo. I'm probably going to leave it at the height it is now and not slam it back down. It rides much smoother and wont have to worry about the rear end as much. Plus I'll be able to drive it down the streets where the pan used to just drag because of uneven pavement.

Got the front end all back together. Also pulled the motor,wiped the oil off and installed the press in sand seal.

Arrrg. So one of my rear axle bearings has seized and and seems pretty stuck on the axle. I broke two pullers trying to remove it. I had to cut the axle spacer( that sits in front of the bearing) and split it to get it off, Might have to do the same for the bearing. On the plus side, nose cone installed, new Ignition switch installed, motor is cleaned up and ready to go back in. The wiring harness for the stereo was very short, so I have to extend all the wiring to it. Was hoping to have it done by now, but snapping/stripping bolts and work have slowed me down.
