Re: Been waiting for a good mk2
I might have an old vr cat. Not sure if its any good.
Re: Been waiting for a good mk2
I still might build my own exhaust though, cus this project is on the cheap and i have a muffler and resonator already. Anyone have advice on the tube size to get the best deep tone and performance? I was going to use 3'' but I have heard mixed reviews because it lowers back pressure. But I didn't think that would matter considering I don't have a turbo.

Re: Been waiting for a good mk2
2.25 should be fine. I've been through trying to make my own exhaust a few times before, and just ended up wasting monies. I cobble and cobble till you have something you need to mess with all the time and eventually scrap it all and to it right. To each his own though.
It's not how fast you go. It's how well you go fast.
Re: Been waiting for a good mk2
You speak the truth... I really hate messing with exhaust. We'll see I'm in no hurry at this point, I still gotta figure out my gauges and lighting first. And my alternator is overcharging...

Re: Been waiting for a good mk2
Got the euro tails all wired up today. They look real nice
I'm not exactly happy with the quality of them, the bulb trays were kinda hard to get in and on one side I could only get it partially in. I spent a fair amount of money on them from black forest industries, and they were made in taiwan
seems like i coulda gotten the same ones on ebay for $30...
Also got my tach working and wired up the alternator exciter or trigger or whatever its called. Two out of four gauges aint bad! Still haven't done anything with the exhaust yet, but that cost money. More updates coming!
Soon I will break into the body work and sand all the terrible blue paint into oblivion. It'll be the first time for me doing body work so i hope it goes well
