hey guys i got a 97 jetta 2.0 5 speed. broke a timing belt, but all seems fine with the motor, its the electical im having problems with and they are bad... So this is whats up. ive replaced sensors

ive replaced switches

ive even tried another computer

but still there are parts of my elecrical system not getting power. The knock, and the crank sensor are not getting any hot power. real strange. tested my inputs to the ecu and those are all powered up but isnt getting power out to a couple of those sensors. the car itself had over heated due to bad timing and low colant. got all that fixed even timed the intermediate shaft to its proper place for the tdc sensor which i had wrong but it still has no spark... none. it gives a slight pop when i let it sit for a day then turn it over. so i know its somewhat related to that issue. realays are good even igniton switch is new but still no spark. ugh im lost with this green jetta, i wanna say its too new for me to wrench with but that would be silly of me to assume so someone help bounce some ideas back and forth, could it be my ecu? it seems strange that an ecu would just fry half of itself. Also, when i turn the key on the temp rises half way even though its cold, with the key on i have tried disconecting all sensors but the only way i can get that temp gauge to drop back to zero is if i unscrew the whole motor harness plug from its sorce there on the block. Could it just be my cumputer or is there a hidden underlying problem i am unaware of. Any help would be great guys please dont leave me hangin here i wanna retain local knowlage without having to post on vortex, there is way too many unfinished threads ive found that dont help a whole lot
Thanks
