Had it completely reassembled. Ran for a few minutes before leaking too. Second time around was much easier, now that stripped fasteners are repaired and knowing how the front is put together.sneakyboy1 wrote:Dude that sucks. Had u gotten it all back together before you discovered it?

I pulled the alternator out of the way and did the thermostat assembly while I was in there again. It crumbled when I looked at it, and I'm pretty sure the Tstat was sticking open.

Now she's happy as a clam. Ill start a thread when I get some photos soonly.

If it makes you feel any better, I did the same thing on the first timing belt job on my car. I popped in a crank seal a little cockeyed apparently or too far in and had a nice drip for a couple years until I redid the timing belt when I did the headgasket, among other things.
I put my snowtires on in preparation for snow-magedon! I wish it would dump!

Swapped in the B7, non-peeling cupholder-delicious center console, new Depo housings (right turn signal STILL doesn't work :/), new coolant temp sensor, got the HU DVD bypass fixed, sunroof switch cleaned and my snowblower's running again...the latter Audi relayed because it clears my driveway
Now for new tires. I didn't rotate them enough or swap out at all this year so the fronts are great, backs stink.
Anyone want to buy two good condition Vredestein Wintrac Extremes in 235/45/18?
