Hello everybody! I am finally expanding my VW collection into water cooled territory. I have never had anything but a air-cooled so this is exciting to me. I bought the car a couple of months ago Im just finally getting around to posting about it. I will kinda start with the story of how i fell into purchasing my GTI. December of last year on Christmas eve i was leaving work early and on my way home in my 03 F150. I just left one of the local breweries with a couple of growlers for Christmas day. Anyways long story short I was t boned by a hutterite and it cause some good suspension damage and structural body damage. It didn't total, but almost did. Well being in an auto body business i knew my car fax report was gonna destroy the value of my truck. So as soon as we were done fixing it I traded it for my 2010 F150.

Anyways I got this truck and hated it after week one. I drove the truck for about 7 months. I hated the gas mileage I was getting as well as the lack of power out of the 5.4 that was in it. So i decided I wanted a car, and I was looking for and Audi or a VW. I started looking around Montana for a car I like and looked at a R32 and a few other GTI's but everything I looked at wasnt cheap enought to take the finacial hit I was about to take on my truck. So I started looking out of Montana and looked down in Boise. I found a 09 GTI with 35000 miles on it, and not a singal scratch or dent on it. It was a lease return and was in amazing shape. I was still running into the problem with it not being cheap enough to take the hit of my truck. A month went by and I thought about the little red GTI again and just looked at there website. The price on the car reduced from $18,000 to $14,000 in a month time period. So I called them up but my deposit on it and drove down the next weekend. So after driving straight there after work and finally arriving in Boise at 2AM, my wife and I crashed at a hotel for a few hours and got up and went and got my new car!

I have a lot of plans for this thing this winter to make it a little killer daily driver. It will probably be a slow process but im gonna try to post as much as possible!
