Any interest in a B6 A4 1.8T Thermal R&D Exhaust?

Post by JayRyan »

Truth be told, I'm getting old and thinking about changing it out for something quieter. Hell, I couldn't hear what my son was saying in the back seat on this last trip! Wondering if any of you kids would be interested in buying it off me. Would come with a testpipe.

Is it really that loud? I may be interested...maybe. Any idea what the connection is at the downpipe? V-band, or clamp? Whats the diameter?

Yes, it is really that loud. I might as well be rocking a double turbo-prop. I can't hear my son talk to me from the backseat and my wife doesn't even try when she's with me. I guess if you dig that then sweet. It sounds amazing though just WAY too loud for me anymore. It's 3" from the turbo back. I'm going to dial back to 2.5 I think. That's the output of the turbo anyway.

Mike, I don't think it'll work on wagons - my brother said he'd be interested in putting it on his Avant but sedans and wagons always seem to have different exhaust part numbers - that that would stop anyone from making it fit

Good to know there's all this interest. it'll probably happen this month. I'll look at getting something else ordered up.

I'm thinking like $600? $650? obo? I honestly have no idea. I know it's about a $1G exhaust system new. It was a year old when I bought the car in '07.
