wtb: type 1 swing axle tranny
So my tranny is going out. Did a lot of driving this past weekend. I can feel a clunk on acceleration and it is making grinding noises. Anyone have a good used one.

That might be out of a type 2. I see gear reduction boxes on it.

Not to derail the thread, but if it is a bus tranny, can y'all tell what it's from year-wise?

Without codes and with the reduction boxes it would be a pre '68, maybe even earlier than that. Can you grab any codes? if so, I can split the topic and start a new thread.

bump, not having any luck yet. I got a couple responses to some trannys that are in unknown condition. I don't want to swap if it is not a known good unit. Brax has some used that are tested for $400 with axles and rebuilt with warranty for $495 with exchange.
