Brownie
1980 vw pickup. Brownie here sat in great falls in an old radio communications tower building from 1986 till I was blessed with this gem, at the cost of $500 of course

Re: Brownie
Now 1980 was a special year for the vw rabbit for it was a Transitional year where the kept the blinkers in the bumper and adopted the rectangle headlights. This yields a special grill and to VR trans plants this means an extra 3.75" between the headlights. Perfect for stuffing a mk2 golf radiator upside down so far up in it your left with no choice but to adapt hood pins and ditch the stock hood latch.

Re: Brownie
My main excitement was not only how clean this truck was but the fact it's brown. I make alot of brown jokes, my favorite is to ask if the viewer likes it in the brown... usually goes right over head even after asking it a few times. Ha ha, oh yea.
So with any clean caddy comes a story. Original owner removed the motor due to bashing what could have been a bolder. Oil pan had been destroyed and I found remnants of a carb and manifold for the old 1.7 and 4 speed combo. Those were in the bed under a pretty clean topper. He drove the caddy till the winter of 85 where he Began his restoration of the old motor. That ship never sailed so there it sat, Brownie. Just collecting dust and an occasional hip as someone stumbled by. The owner lost interest and one day crooked. His son was willed the caddy to where then Brownie began its new life being first handed over to an upholstery shop ran by bikers that were friends of the owners son. Then came the day I found Brownie
Only a short tittle, no pictures and no clue just how clean it really was
All I knew was it had sat a while. I am the second owner of this caddy and with the body only being at 14,729 when I got it i knew it was Destin for a mighty vr6. And to top off that it was already a gas model on paper sealed the deal for me
