Where is the closest/best auto-x tracks? I did a little search and found only dirt rings and similar tracks around Montana. Anyone know any good ones?

They have auto-x's here all the time. They use airports and dorm parking lots and such. They are done for the year now im pretty sure though. Joe knows a lot more about it than I do.

THe Helena Emergency Services FDacility is used a lot, and it is a blast. It is pretty much a defensive driving training road course, but we set up some cones to make it interesting. I saw 4th gear and almost 100mph in my little GTI last year! You can go to www.bigskyregion.org or www.mtscca.com The first one is region 38, which is over on the western half of the state, the second is the main page for MT, which should have all the events for the state listed.....when they have them all set up. The season just ended over here, so there won't be any up just yet, but keep looking. We should all try to make a couple events in Helena this year, it is a blast. The Top Gun event is a 2-day event, a huge amount of fun. Glad to see another auto-xer on here!

Check out swmtscca.org for Bozeman area SCCA stuff.
Yes, we usually run three events on the Hedges lot in the summer, and a couple more anywhere we can in Bozo. We have used the Ice Garden lot for years, but that may be over with the new owners. Keep an eye on the website.

awesome, thanks for the info. Ill try to get out to some when the time rolls around again. In the meantime I found a place around bozeman. Its not quite legal though... Its one of the undeveloped neighborhoods that just has the roads laid out but nothing else hah. Not quite auto-x, but fun non the less.

You're right, it's not normal autocross, but it is a hell of a lot of fun! I didn't hear anyone complaining!(especially not the R32 guys.......)
