Post by t53a »

my rabbit is being retarded. i cant get it to run right at all. all she does is ping and pop alot. tried to check timing but no luck. something is off and i dont know what. it seems like a fuel issue cuz when i first start her she will run ok for a while. then just die. and i try to restart her and she fires every once in a while and will eventualy start, but just runs like crap. any ideas?

Its the car telling you its time for a 1.8T or VR6 swap

Without seeing it and hearing it - its hard to tell.

It could be something as simple as bad or old plugs - I had a Honda MC that was really picky out what plugs I was running and was really cold-blooded. That's not usual for a VW though...

well i just got done with the head gasket sooooooo maybe this will help. i started her up with out the downpipe bolted up and she ran really well. so maybe i just need new exaust :?: but im gonna head down to the hardware store for some vacume fittings. does anyone know what vacume tubes i can actualy remove? my rocco only had one for the dist. and brake booster. but its a 1.8 JH and this is some little 1.5. so im not sure. any help is apriciated.

thanks

Notice any funny smells? Maybe a bit like sulfur? If so your cat is clogged.
