The wife is pretty frugal on the Jetta. She wants it tinted first and doesn't seem too interested to do much more. IMO, there's way too much chrome on it, but it's her car.Rennwagen1 wrote:Ohh Scott, lookee lookee! No chrome window trim on the Jetta! *hint hint*
Oh also. This is my experience with front plates.
No plate = pulled over and harasses by bored cops
Euro plate only = pulled over and harassed by bored cops
Euro plate plus slightly relocated MT plate = haven't had a problem yet.
I was also told by a couple of ultra cool (for real)highway patrollmen "the state issues you two plates, so you must have two plates on the car at all times." They had no comment on why the state is now too cheap to issue you 2 registration tabs.
As for the euro front plate, I love the idea and I'd do it if I had a rear bumper skin that held a euro plate to match the front. One day I'll pop the front plate off and play with different placements to see if I can find a cheap alternative mounting. Vanity plates are definitely in the cards. EVIL GTI or DARK GTI...something with GTI in it so I can debadge it without feeling like a rabbit.
Anyways, the front is definitely staying except the fob bulbs. The back ones I would like to see similar to below except expose only the outside ones (brakes and signals) if I leave the inner ones (backup lights) totally under film. If I paint them to match the body like below, I'll have to do it pretty much like he did with them all exposed:
