Clutch and/or transmission

Wow thats fucked up

Installed by BFI Stage1 dogbone mounts. Definitely is stiffer - I got some pretty good vibrations on startup and idle, but now that it is starting to break in it's much nicer, and less harsh. Oh, and I did a pretty sweet burnout with no wheel hop! I do notice that I am getting to the end of my clutch life though...

So, I was thinking I would take my car in for a new clutch - I supply the parts. But then I thought - how hard could it be? I've done everything else on my car including the timing belt.

I'm looking at the ECStuning stage 1 clutch kit with the light flywheel:

Experts please advise.

remove half shafts, separate trans from motor, drop, pull old clutch off, install new one, replacement is the reverse of removal.

OEM is dual mass, but I don't have to replace it with a dual mass - I'll upgrade to the lighter single mass.

Think I can drop it out the bottom with my car on jack stands? Is there enough clearance, or should remove the bumper cover?

I have heard of a lot of people just using the VR6 clutch. I'm not sure if thats applicable to your transmission but the stock vr6 clutch is rumored to withstand 300hp 300tq. Mine has 105k on it and still shifts smooth as butter with no slip.

it can handle 300ft/lbs.
