7K is a little high for an 8yr old car with ~150K miles...did you look up book value on KBB or Nada?

Why not VRT?

first off im only 18 and turboing that car would cost to much and it wouldn't be reliable then and i was judging off what people pay for these cars in billings. i will prolly get something that is made to handle a turbo like a wrx or a 1.8t golf haven't decided yet lol.

uhm.. Turboing a VR6 isnt that much.. And it will be just as reliable as anything else if done right.

A 2002-ish 1.8T GTI should be about $10k. Chip it and get wheeeeeeeee for cheap. One of the rare 4 door 1.8T golfs would be totally dope though.
2007 Black Magic Pearl MKV GTI, 6MT, Revo Stage 1, Eibach Prokit sprints, and a lot of blackness.

Still selling Revo SPS3 unit for 1.8T/2.7T...any takers? PM me for details! I need money for stage 2!

I hear ya - go for the 1.8t and a chip like Scott said. A VRT is a project and that takes time and $$.

With a turbo and being 18 watch out for insurance...
