I dislike bluetooth. My experience with it has been bad, so I would say stick to the headset if you need to drive and talk. Really just don't drive and talk at the same time - it's not safe.

I run a car audio shop, so I can get ahold of a few different decks that have BT functionality. I also have Motorola BT car kits, that are basically a standalone unit, I use one in my company truck. What other features are you looking for, and what vehilce are you looking to install it into?

Basically just a nice CD player that in case I get a call, which is not often I can answer it without usingf my phone. I was thinking for my GLI. I have the headset, but I never remember to bring it and I'm not even sure where it is. I was just thinking of having a CD player where I could use my phone if I neded to. The sound just comes out of your speakers correct. and do you talk into a mic some where? I'd be interested in buying one if I kn ew how much they were, mainly I'd use the radio and CD player. But if they do not work that well then I probably won't get one. I just thought since I want to get a new CD player for my GLI i'd get one with Bluetooth. What deck do you guys recommend? I'm going to puyt the deck that is in their now in my Bug.

If you can wait a little bit, all of the new stuff will be out soon for '08. The Consumer Electronics Show was a couple of weeks ago, and that this when they bring all the new stuff out. Now, as far as getting everything shipped, that is a different story. I have a couple of Pioneer pieces that are pretty nice, and have BT built in, and then I also have some that are able to be upgraded with BT interfaces. I can do some checking and get back to you.

Thank you, it all depends on cost, and there is probably not a big hurry, I'm just curious right now.
But I'll take any information I can find.
Thanks for looking for me.
If I move to Missoulia, I'll have you work on my cars, stereo wise.

i've been really happy with the deck i just picked up for my Audi. its my first kenwood, and im still kindof missing my pioneers and alpines, but with the features and little treats this deck has, it's worth the small sacrifices.

Heres my deck

its got USB input which you can hook your ipod adapter right into, but i usually use it for a 6Gb thumb drive which plays just like a huge MP3 CD!
the bluetooth has also worked very well for me, and the call quality is pretty good. definitely something to look into for ya!

Thanks for the input, Aeron I'd be interested in the stand a lone unit, since I have a factory deck in my wagon. Since my new job will require me to be in the car a lot I'd like to get something. Let me know what you Have Aeron, and how much, worse case, I guess I can keep using my Bluetooth headset, but it custs out a lot and that is verey annoying. So I'm looking into other options.

Don't even waste your money on an ipod.
Go with a Zune.

You realize of course that the Zunes are out of production and will no longer be supported shortly...

Back to the topic though - Matt - USB blue tooth decks are cool, but ive always heard that unless they are built in with the car, they never quite work like they should..
no personal experience though..
Good luck with what ya find- Though as Mike said - Don't Drive and Talk!!
