Door card Swap
OK so this winter I broke my drivers side armrest on my GLI. It is cracked but the fabric is still intact, so it is just the armrest it self, I put my elbo into it too many times. What I was wondering is how do I take the cloth off the the door card and replace it from the cloth on my otyher Jetta. It is not as simple as just replacing door cards because they don't match, so I want to take the cloth off both door cards and replace the good on with the bad one and put the cloth back on. Ay suggestions, and I appologize if I confused anyone.

I say just recover all of your door cards. Find some decent fabric, and they are new again. Ramrod's look awesome.

Ramrod what does yours look like. Recovering it would be nice but They are really nice and they match my Recaros. the fabric is not wrecked it is the door handle underneath that is broken. I can send a picture from the GLI. I can't from the other Jetta because the doors are shaved and the battery is out.
I'll show you guys the door this summer and when I get a battery in my other Jetta, I'll take the door card out and try to take the fabric off.
If I could afford to do it I'd do a full interior swap with leather on my Recaros and different colored door cards but I don't know how much a task like that would cost me and I'm not even sure if I could tackle something like that. I could probably have someone do the seats and maybe I could find four black door cards to put on.
Thanks for the advise though.
I'll post a WTB post in the classifieds.

I just redid the doorcards on my squareback, so I can't help you out directly for the GLI. But I can say hot glue and a heat gun are your friend. A couple quick grips come in handy to hold the material too. Brandon's walmart suede looks pretty damn good, and it's pretty easy work.
