Randy you are the man. I will probably take you up on that deal and I will even fix your computer - if you still need it fixed that is... :D

I'm hoping in a few weeks I'll find something or an opportunity will drop in my lap so I will keep this thread up to date

matt and i are secretly looking for a splitty for an introduction project to come out of our new shop when we get there, it will be our first hush hush build, then do a full start to finish thread on it. doesnt matter the style of splitty only the more windows the better of course, we dont want a samba. it would be hard to modify a samba :)

That split looks like it's seen better days, at least from afar. Details?

Whats the condition on the white camper? Looks like a riviera or a convert the way the lid pops from the back?

Glad to see you want to get a bus. they are so much fun.
Get a westy! Figure out what motor you want, 68-71 type 1, 72-79 type 4. pretty sure F.I. came in 74 or 75.
79 is the worst year, and 71 is said to be the best. (last year of type 1 1st year power brakes & last year of older style tail lights and bumpers)

I drive by this transporter every day.

and a westy. a sweet year too.

i have a 1.7 type 4 motor tins and all from a 72 running dual solexs that just sitting doing nothing. i let it go FT/4 cheap. It apparently runs although ive never heard it.

And when you find a potential candidate find the M-code Plate and go here

good luck. Keep us updated.

Great info...thx Forrest.

I'm shooting for finding a Westy for sure after doing a ton of reading on TS. Type 4 motor for sure, and I will be doing mostly highway driving so I would really like to find a 2.0 and swap but the FI may be complex, I dunno.

I emailed on the 74 and it was sold - it belong(ed) to gatorp2 here on the site. Would have been perfect! Oh well.

Interested in that white one Stoney posted - pretty sure that's a 72-ish Rivera pop top missing the front topper...replaced with running lights? Also been looking around town and I think I found a tin-top camper, and another Westy just sitting in some fenced in property - notes and inquries are out on both :)

The spilt looks really nice, but probably too much work for me - I would like more details tho.

Oh, I may take you up on that 1700 depending on how much of a project I find out there - thanks for the offer!
