And, Mikey, if you are dealing with the russians here in town, lowball the shit out of them! Seriously. Throw in you have to travel from Billings, etc. they probably got the car for next to nothing, if not free. And don't trust a word they say. I got haggle with a bunch of them at the yard sale this weekend, I loved it/hated it.

Good advice for sure, I'm sure they want to get every penny for parts. Still not sure B5 parts will work, and I wonder if they can get a B6 or not. I also have found a few B6's on copart.com where they auction off salvage vehicles. I thought it may be a good thing to get the entire car, not just the parts, and see if I can make a little back on parting it out.

Bad thing is that they are all in Helena and I can't go inspect them. So I may wait until something pops up locally.

Oh and I should add, I also got a quote from Shokan for all the parts and it totaled to 3K + freight. Um, thanks, but no thanks.

I bet you could find one that runs for 3K+. It might be ugly, but who cares?

^ Exactly, I don't need the whole car, but it would come in very handy and I would have extra parts. I may get lucky on copart, but in the meantime, if you guys see anything sitting around please let me know.

Oh boy, the Russians yep. I called today and spoke to Mike - nice guy, I understood most of what he said, but I don't think he understood me. From what I can gather he has a B5 parts car, and maybe a B6 coming in. without being there, it's a tough one.

He kept confusing V6 when I said B6, and he had lost my email...sigh. And...it sounds like he lives/works by the airport which only aggravated me further.

Jason, do you/ have you ever gone out there?

That would be Mike Bobko. I know him well. In fact he was one of the guys I got to deal with at the yardsale. He used to buy auto glass from me. Next time we have a few beers I'll tell you about it. Let's jsut say this, I am preeetty sure he puts in windshields with silicone. Not good. But still, don't trust him, and yes, he is near the airport, with is right near me, so if he might have something you want, LMK, I can run out there and see. I have never been to his chopshop *cough* I mean body shop, but I'll take one for the team.

I know that "Mike" the Russian too and honestly don't care for him after Jarred and I had been out to his junkyard for some parts an he was a dick.
I know a different Russian here that always has VW and B5 Audi stuff out at his house. He lives way out lower miller creek, not sure if you know him Aeron? I forget his name but I've bought a few things from him in the past for my MKIV Golf.

Thanks Aeron, I'll let you know what he will do, and I appreciate you taking one for the team lol. Maybe Jason can go along and be your muscle, he is "strong like bull" :p

After more research it turns out there are only a few parts that will cross over to a B6:

B5 trans w/ fork and bolts
B5 trans side mounts w/ bolts
Clutch including flywheel, clutch disk, pressure plate, throwout bearing
Clutch master cylinder
Clutch slave cylinder

So these are the parts I asked Mike for a price on. Waiting...
