like I said...depends on what your tranny needs. worst case is 1900, that being me having to buy a core tranny to build for you.

You should buy two then, that's a killer deal!!!! the first and second shift hub alone is 700 bucks from them. That's why I hate giving qoutes on something I haven't seen. Seriously, which dealer gave you that qoute? Overland doesn't even sell them that cheap, and they bought all the leftover's from VW.

I can get an 02J for ~$1900 from -
http://www.bahnbrenner.com/vw_audi/prod ... mm_Flanges
And an 02A for...
http://www.mjmautohaus.com/catalog/prod ... ts_id=1405
I think it was $1200 for an 02A from VW when I looked into it at work.

The one from texas is an 02j as well, don't forget to factor in shipping and tax.
The other one, from Bahn, is either from Overland parts in CA (wholesaler only ) or from German Transaxle in Bend Oregon.
Neither one comes with a stud kit for the diff, or an unconditional warranty.
If you can get a new, or even a rebuilt from your dealer for $1200, with a warranty....I'd take it. Can't beat having your warranty local.

I bet that noise is rocks in your brakes - mine does the same thing - it sounds horrible, but... eventually it goes away≥

LOL, no, it was the transmission. Noise went away with the new one.
