My rabbit was painted outside at 530 in the morning

Well..................I broke something today.....was just east of spokane, cruising in fifth gear. i went to speed up a bit and the rpms just shot up...like if the clutch was slipping, but then the engine dropped to idle, making this angry growling noise. it growls anytime the clutch is engaged, in or out of gear, and the car doesnt move at all......its at the dealer in spokane right now, im getting to seattle one way or another so ill try to pick it up on the way home....sad day

So prognosis....trannys blown. I wont know for sure what failed till i pull the tranny apart. If it was at home, i would fix it myself, but since its in spokane itll run me around 2k to get it back on the road...gotta get home somehow i suppose...i think what ill do is have it fixed, then buy the core back and see if i cant rebuild it and sell it to recoup some money....2k is right on the verge of wanting to sell the car, but i just finished a bunch of paint, and my hood just came in....i think ive gotta keep going...

If you are near Spokane, you should look at a place called Spaldings - they deal with a lot of used parts and you may find a decent tranny for a cheaper price - just a thought.
