Been a while since I updated. After cleaning out the gas tank, I ordered a rebuild kit and tuned up the passenger side carb since it was just dripping instead of spraying properly. With a little timing and tuning help from Kevin we discovered that now the driver side carb wasn't running well by comparison. I knew I should have done them both, but I was being cheap, and so I cost myself an extra $12 in S&H having to place two orders. :banghead:

So now she's running a lot better, I think timing is just about dialed in. She's running rich and bogging down a bit with the occational backfire. But I think I'll be good to go once we lean her out, and by we, I mean Kevin since he's way better at it than I and I'll likely just make it worse.

Also started some interior work, I've began glueing some of the vinyl back onto the door cards and I reapolstered the seat cushions with black duct tape.

I have always loved those but I can never find them. A guy I knew in high school had one but I'm not sure what happened to it. Can't wait to see it up close.

Let's see, since my last post both carbs are rebuilt and tuned thanks to Kevin. Timing is dialed in. And interior work is well on it's way. Door cards are all restored and look brand new. I then dropped the front two notches, and with a little help from Brandon, I dropped the rear on Sunday, also two notches. After going for a little drive and having oil blow out the crank case breather, I discoverd I had way too much oil. After draining it, I found about 2 quarts of gas mixed with the oil to make soupy mess. I inspected the fuel pump and it was fine, so I think the gas just built up after all the starts and choke flooding it. Hopefully the problem doesn't return. I then changed the oil, and after finding I wired up the coil backwards, it fired right up. Took it for a drive tonight and she's at FULL POWER! All 65 hp of furry. I'm idling a bit fast now that she's spinning freely, but that can be fixed easily. We made our first trip to the gas station for a full tank and some seafoam. Then I picked up Wade and we went around the neighborhood. Paint supplies are bought, and the roof will be started tomorrow.
