I was not as successful in AZ as I'd hoped but I did get some needed bits.

I'll call these speed mods.

First the trunk tools

The tool Kit

Then some interior trim bits

The little pieces really complete a project for me so they're important.

I had some issues with my power steering brackets so I picked a replacement set up when I was down in AZ.
Image
You can see on the top the bent bracket. Turns out I was missing that dog leg too. No wonder it didn't fit right
Image
Got them switched out and the pump lines up now much better.
Image
Also got a lower splash guard. Turns out these are an IX specific part and I got one off a regular IS so..
This one was starting to show some wear
Image
And a crack
Image
So
Image
Glassed. Not perfect, it just goes on the bottom of the car.. :( To be replaced at some point in time with a proper skid plate
Image
After coating with some truck bed stuff
Image
Image
So the IX part I'm thinking is shaped different, longer on the bottom, shorter on the sides.. I trimmed this to fit so it'd hold my brake duct things in place till I can find the correct piece.
Image
Driver side was missing the stud, so I had to put one in
Image
Image
Here it is installed.
Image
And you can see how it holds in the vertical piece that's the rear socket for the brake duct

<excuses style="tone:whine;"></excuses>

Pulled the car in the garage
Image
On the list is to replace:
  • Steering Rack
  • Control arms
  • Rear control arm bushings (m3)
  • PS Steering lines (if needed, I can't tell if they are leaking or not)
  • Steering shaft guibo.
1st up, since the front subframe has to be removed for this, I needed to support the front of the engine from up top. A couple of 2x4 and threaded hook and I made up something that'll do the job.

Engine Support
Image
Image
To get to the inner ball joint nut, you hit it from the top of the engine. I don't have a long extension so made do with this. Ha, ghetto I know, but it did the job.
Image
Got the tie rod ends broke loose, and the subframe loosened. I can't get the outer ball joints off so I'm at a stand still. Going to hit up Don's and see if he has a tool for this.
Image
This is the tool I need. HF but.. I don't want to wait. Napa can get one but.. same wait.
