WTT/WTB: 8v 5spd trans

Post by MT-Getto »

I don't have a whole lotta loot but I need an 8v trans from a MK2 or MK3. I thought I had one, but it was from a rabbit so I cannot bolt the motor/trans mount to it. I have for trade a rabbit FF or a 16v 2Y (or how about a VR auto :)).

for once, i think were all out of trannies! i do have a 2Y 16v trans, i took it apart and put in all new seals through out, but it seems to go into the gears rather stiffly, so i dont know if i trust it. thats all i have, you may have to go with the 2Y that you have and upgrade the axles to 100MM. is that what your running into? i see why the FF wont work, but why not the 2Y?

Don't want the old 1.8 doing 3800rpm @ 75 mph. I might buy another 2.0 donor and just rob the CHE.
