86 Jetta

Post by Darkside »

Picked up this 86 Jetta the other day. Going to put some much need lovin on it and it will replace the MK4 VR as the GF's daily. The Jetta is a little rough but, it should clean up. The immediate concerns are a new cluster (CE1) cause the speedo is dead in the car now. And a fuel pump :( Also looking for a set of wheels...

CIS-E, Jetta, 8v, I'm pretty sure that MK2 has two pumps - one in the tank, the other inline. If it fits, I'm sure we can make a deal if you want my used inline pump, but I don't think it will fit the MK2. I could be wrong.

A couple of things to check if the problem is intermittent would be the ignition switch and the fuel pump relay. They both are common failures that cause the main pump to be MIA.

You will want to measure the outside diameter. There are like 3 sizes. My guess is the 60mm
