So, it's like consistently 90-100° down here in SL, UT (salt lake). I noticed that only one of my radiator fans ever seems to spin up...at least that is what I'm assuming. I can't ever recall seeing the other one active.
I've only really looked after driving around in the heat, then popped the hood during it's engine off cool down. Although I have looked with the engine running as well (once our twice).
Question is, shouldn't both be running?
I've got no codes (which is amazing coming from this car)
Thanks.

Re: Radiator fans...
Common failure.
Turn the key on, turn the fan to any speed, and turn the ac button on. See if the fans spin. I've already replaced one on my tdi that died at like 50k. lol

Re: Radiator fans...
So I tore apart the motor and rebuilt it (stuck brushes). So now both my fans run.
Question now is, after driving around in the hot hot heat, the one working fan used to run for a few after I shut the engine off. Now that they both work, it does not do this.
Was that just a symptom of one fan not working and the heat, or did I break something by fixing something? Are the fans supposed to run after "hot" engine shut off?
