IT'S TIME TO LET GO...
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
New parts include:
Radiator
Heater core
Swirl pot
Hoses
Plugs, cap, rotor, wires
Crank sensor
Timing belt kit
Exhaust downpipe (expensive)
Muffler (after market - not too happy with it tho.)
Rear wheel bearings and wheel cylinders with new brake shoes
Front rotors and pads
Half shafts with cv's
Door cards and window cranks
Form fitted carpeting
Windshield
Other things, but I can't remember them all. Have receipts for most everything.
Other good stuff...
1995 2.0 Liter ABA engine and 5 speed transmission with 85,284 actual miles
Wiring harness, steering wheel and gauge cluster from the 1995 Jetta donor car
Oil changes done more frequently than every 3,000 miles.
Gas tank was removed and inspected -- clean as a whistle. New fuel lines installed on the fuel pump.
Back slider window
All glass is in great shape
Teardrop 15" wheels (tires just OK)
Corrado leather seats with no rips or tears.
Chrome bumpers are in good shape.
Runs and starts superb. Does not use a drop of oil. Absolutely NO oil leaks from transmission or engine.
Everything on rig works. No codes tripped on OBD1. Started and ran every other month to keep up the oil flow. Was my daily driver for 5+ years.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
BAD stuff...
Left front strut tower is hanging by a thread! Can't be driven much more than a couple of miles! (It road well on a car carrier - and will do good on a car trailer.)
Front wheel bearings howl
Dash is from a newer Jetta - cobbled together.
Doors show lots of rust at bottom drain holes.
Front fenders show rust through at edges. Bed itself and side panels are in good shape. Tailgate is good too.
Tail lights are glued together.
Ugly, but functional ladder rack.
----------------------------------------------------------------
My Thoughts . . .
I've got a lot of money tied up in this little truck, and it has been a privilege to keep it on the road for it's few remaining years. It has served me well.
It would be great if someone could fix the strut tower, but realistically that is near impossible.
We all know the value of Corrado seats, complete engines and transmissions, fuel pumps, radiators and etc. if purchased at a wrecking yard or God forbid purchased new.
I could part it out piece by piece and probably make a lot more money, but I would be willing to sell it for less if someone was willing to take it on as another project. It would be nice if the whole thing could be sold as a unit, and perhaps be used to rebuild another Caddy or used as replacement parts in another Rabbit of the same vintage.

So I guess the bottom line is:
MAKE ME AN OFFER THAT I CAN'T REFUSE!
You can post back here -- and I'll be monitoring the thread.
