Yeah I did the swap myself - it wasn't hard, but it was hard to find a donor car. I finally found a GLX at the junkyard with a decent set of plastics, carpet, rear deck, belts, and velour cloth seats. The door panels were no good and I got them later from various people on the Vortex. In the pictures above the panels and handles had not been swapped out. It's all black now.

If anyone knows where I can get a set of Wolfburg or GLI seats I would have my current set up for sale or trade.

I need to add in there that I swapped out my 4 spoke wheel for a three spoke wheel - thanks to Aeron and Spence "The Transporter".

Here's the story:

I wanted an old farm truck for a beater and project hauler so I set my budget and looked all over. I found an ad in the Gazette and called the number - turns out this one was for sale on a farm over in Greycliffe. So, we drove over to check it out, and it was pretty rough but there was no rust, which is really rare for the F series. It was infested with mice/vermin though and it hadn't run for about 6 years. So I knew it would be a project, which was fine. But I wasn't prepared for what I was going to find...

I pulled out roughly 30+ lbs of mice crap and nests, then gutted and sprayed out the entire cab and dash area with my pressure washer. Then went through an sprayed home made concoctions of sanitizers and scent removers. I would say the smell is 90% gone, and what is left is in the seats, which will be tossed when I find replacement buckets.

I have replaced all the brake hardware, excluding the Dana 60 rear drums which are fine and the brake booster. A major find was getting the NOS emergency brake cables for $30 on eBay, when they are so rare they are not in production anymore and can't be found even at the NOS warehouse and suppliers!

Anyway...there is so much more that I have done I'll need to type more later.

Thanks guys - well, it runs pretty strong, but I think I need a carb rebuild. Those are so easy, but it would make it run x10 better. I need to lean it out a little too, because it runs a little rich.

There is a knock on the drivers side in the bottom end, but I can't tell wtf it is. I have heard from many sources that the FE's had a problem with wristpins, but I have have gotten ideas such as a motor mount or exhaust leak. I don't think it spun a bearing or anything because it wouldn't be running and I would see shaving in the oil. I still have no idea what it is, but I have to rip into it a little more.

Sweet '75 Mike, my dad has a cherry '74 F100 Custom as his summer ride. I'll have to get some pictures of that and our '51 GMC this summer and post them.
