Need some help with pedal input lag

Post by VWJET00 »

k i want to get rid of the delay in pedal input. when i put the pedal to the floor it takes like a second or half a second for the car to get moving. I was reading on some sites and it says that if you reflash? the ecu or something like that it helps. i really don't know what i can do to fix this. so i need some help thanx!

It depends on the delay, I don't think the reflash can really get rid of it. The ecu can only comprehend inputs so quickly. You may have an issue with the throttle body or the pedal/sensor itself. I'd suggest checking those out before trying to get it flashed to "fix" it.

Any check engine or EPC codes?????????
I would suspect that a slight lag may be normal.

I have heard about something like this on the Touared forums, they refer to it as "Death Lag" meaning it always happens when you are trying to make a break in traffic. I have never had this problem with mine, but I have always had the update flashes done. There are a few "ways" I have heard of to fix it, a few you can try yourself, and then always a flash update from the dealer. I am not sure if they transfer over to your car, but you might do a *sigh* VWVortecks search on it and see what you come up with. Sometimes that site can be some help.......
