I changed the battery yesterday. Got one at Direct for $35

Also I finished buffing and waxing the rest of the car last weekend. Looks great but still needs new wheels.

Yeah I was stoked they had one. Autozone $180, Parts Plus $92 then I remembered that Direct Automotive sells batteries that have been sitting too long on the shelfs for a reduced price and no warranty. I bought 2 group 78 batteries from them before and had mixed results. This euro one seems perfect though.

Got my head back from the shop last week, or was it the week before...regardless, I finally found some time to work on it again. Here you can see that I got the lifters and cam installed, along with the injector air shrouds and EM studs, along with plenty of copper anti sieze

On this side you can see the three barb fittings that tap into the water jacket. This helps cool the last three cylinders a bit better and also helps with detonation, if/when it sees any. The bosses were already there so it was an easy drill and tap procedure. With all the heat from the turbo and downpipe crammed up towards the firewall and lack of proper airflow back there, I figured I would do what I can to reduce the heatsoak these 10v motors are known for. Heat shielding will be a necessity as well, and the aluminum/glass shields I fabbed up should work out nicely. More on that when I get the head back on...

Got a little further than the last pic, but still quite a bit to do. Now that I have my weekends back, hopefully progress will be a little quicker.

Got the power steering and the majority of the engine harness hooked up. That took a while because almost every connector had breaks or corrosion in the wire. When your dealing with such thin wire like Audi seemed to use for everything, a little corrosion can make signals go haywire. Solder and heatshrink are my new best friend.
