The miles on the motor are one thing but they are in every mk3 pre 95. Also I had a 97 jetta over the summer. It was a Canadian model and it was an obd1. Obd1's are all forged in the block unlike the cast obd2 internals. I've been seeing a couple on craigslist for about 3-4 Hundo. The rabbit truck is my interest mostly. And well the corrado seats too are a good get. A thousand is pretty fair I'm sure a guy could easily drop two thousand into one to achieve what was originally built here. With all the goodies it has oldfolk you ask a good price. If i wouldnt be into it so much with the body welding together I would be all over it. Overall project cost is one thing but also keeping a dub going is another. A $1000 is quite fair but not quite a win.

Ya, it too is obd1 - wiring harness complete from the newer donor, makes it handy to trouble shoot when needed. If I don't sell it by the start of summer, I might just dismantle it and put it in the attic of the garage. You can keep it in mind. I know it's a lot of work to transplant the front ends. I was hoping that something decent would come along that I could use the parts in -- but unfortunately nothing did come my way. . .

It might also be worth mentioning, the diagnostic port is wired in, and this runs without any trouble codes. CEL works, and is only on when the motor is not started.

Im very familiar with Ce2. I just wired an obd2 motortronic 5.9 into my mk1 jetta. I retained my ce1 harness though. Just sayin, I had a whole laundry basket of electrical tape when I was done lol. This appears to be a harness swap and the caddy rear harness was spliced in with the proper plugs I would imagine. On my jetta I use the oxs light as my check engine. Learning how to wire relays was the fun part.

Not much splicing at all, most of it was actually plug and play. The hardest part was figuring out the turn signal light in the speedo cluster. Even things such as the dome light and door switches were a snap.

Its nice how similar all the wires are between the vast years of production. What was used for your down pipe?
