Yea disregard the catalyst code. I have been battling that one since I bought my car. Search those codes on vortex and see what comes up.
How many miles on your car? You could try cleaning your throttle body or adapting it. They get a pretty bad build up of gunk. I'm pretty sure there is a VAG-COM test to adapt and see how far off the TB is. I did that a few thousand miles ago. Its not to difficult to clean it and it didn't take more than an hour to do. Just follow the DIY guide on vortex exactly how it says and DO NOT TRY TO MOVE THE BUTTERFLY AT ALL. It will destroy the electric motor if you force it.

Sorry to jump in on this post but I was wondering if I could use the vag com to change my headlight setting on my car so I can turn on just my fogs? And why not, a quick diagnostic too?

I'm not sure if you can do it with a vagcom. On the B5's you have to physically modify the lighting module behind the glove box.Doughboy wrote:Sorry to jump in on this post but I was wondering if I could use the vag com to change my headlight setting on my car so I can turn on just my fogs? Really? I thought I read somewhere you just hook up the vagcom and a couple pushed buttons makes for an easy mod. What can you do with it then?Ramrod wrote:

I'd search the archives on Audiworld to see what you can come up with for the B6. I'm sure the question has been asked a lot before. But with the B5 you have to cut out one of the prongs on the headlight module. It's not a difficult mod, it's just a plug that comes out. The trouble is you need hands the size of preschooler to reach it back there.Doughboy wrote: Really? It allows the fogs to work independently of the rest of the lighting. DOT regs says no fog lights can be on with high beems, so they shut off automatically. Audi also wired it so you can't use fogs alone as a safety percaution. The modification makes them come on whenever you press the button.
