I am actually amazed at the pressure in it. it usually runs 75-100 lbs unless it is idling.I acutally installed an oil mpressure guage in it to check. The damn thing runs like a top. You've seen me drive it, and I ain't nice to it.......Now if I would just get under it and fix the exhaust rattle.....ValveFloat wrote: Renn, that Rabbit engine must be pretty tight if you can get away with 10-30 in the summer. Both my Rabbit and my 16v GTI needed 20-50 to keep the pressure up when it got hot, both had well over 100k on the engine.

Anyone ever use royal purple motor oil? Is it worth the extra cost?
Also should I run something different in the winter?

You should start running 5w-40syn, its the standard oil for your motor year round. All 1.8t's and 2.0t's are supposed to run 5w-40syn according to vw audiDoughboy wrote:Engine: 1.8T

I was going to get some royal purple for the change Ive been saying I am going to do for the past 3 weeks... decided to wait to the summer to spend the extra cash. Mobile 1 5w30 will suffice for now.
